Totally Awesome Science Research – Lightning Bolt Raindrops
I just had to share this super awesome scientific discovery.
TL;DR: why does stuff left out in the rain get corroded? Everybody knows that the rain has corrosive stuff in it, that’s why, right? Turns out nobody has been thinking about how raindrops are electrically charged, and the charge is so great that when they land on stuff, they zap tiny lightning bolts through whatever they hit! How freaking cool is that? And it’s obvious when you think about it, but nobody thought about it, until now.
