Vaillancourt Fountain at Justin Herman Plaza, this bold, beautiful piece of living art is being removed from downtown San Francisco. I enjoyed it during its heyday and even when it had been left dry. Now, with its passing, it’s more beautiful than ever. Knowing that something will die is integral to its beauty.
